Radio Norwich is a fictional radio station in Norwich, England, in the television series I'm Alan Partridge. It contains elements from both BBC Local Radio and Independent Local Radio; it is unclear precisely what it is supposed to be, but the BBC is never referred to in the station's logo, jingles or idents.
The title character, played by Steve Coogan, can be seen on-air at the beginning of several episodes, usually hosting phone ins on various inane topics (for example: "Which is the best Lord: Lord of the Rings, Lord of the Dance, or Lord of the Flies?") Partridge can also often be seen bickering with D.J Dave Clifton (played by Phil Cornwell), who takes the slots after his own in both series of the show.
There is a strong implication that any radio station that would employ Alan Partridge must be pretty insignificant.
In reality Norwich and its surrounding county are served by BBC Radio Norfolk, and the two names are often confused. Ironically, on 29 June 2006, a new radio station for Norwich, owned by the Tindle Radio Group, launched under the name of 99.9 Radio Norwich.
